Our diatomite mat is absorbent, quick drying, and slip resistant, which makes it a smart swap for a synthetic fiber bath mat that stays damp between uses. Stylish enough to leave out, and made from stone rather than plastic.

These mats are made from diatomite, a soft sedimentary stone formed from fossilized algae and one of the most abundant minerals on earth. The surface is porous enough to absorb up to 150% of its weight in moisture and release it in seconds, so the mat is dry again by the time you need it next.

Multipurpose: Not just for stepping out of the shower. Use it as a dish drying rack, a hot tub or pool mat, a tray under pet bowls, a drying mat for dishes beside the kitchen sink, and more.

Care Instructions: Rinse gently with water and wipe clean. To maintain absorbency, wash and dry the mat completely every 10 to 20 days. For a deeper clean, apply a little vinegar, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide and scrub gently. One of our pot scrub brushes works well for clearing out the pores. If absorbency drops off, sand a thin layer from the surface with fine grit sandpaper to refresh it. Please note: Wet sand only. Keep the dish and sandpaper wet the whole time. Avoid breathing the dust.

Never use greasy cleaning products, as oils can stain the stone. Deep stains may need bleach to lift.

Important: Place the mat on an even, flat surface. Never set it on carpet or on top of another soft mat, as the unsupported stone can crack.
