I’ve only been using this new bamboo heads and found for around a month+ but so far, I really like it a lot.
For the first few days, the bristles felt stiffer than the Philips DiamondClean heads but I either got used to the stiffness or they softened enough that I stopped noticing a difference. The shape of the head is slightly less diamond shaped so perhaps that contributed to the ‘this feels different’ sensation when I first started using it.
Before buying this head, I did a lot of research on bamboo heads and found that some reviews of other bamboo heads indicated that they grew mold/mildew easily. Because of that, I have been careful to gently wipe excess water off the head after brushing with my finger. So far, so good, no mold or mildew. So long as that continues, these will definitely be my brush head of choice going forward.
The head fits very securely to my Philips Sonicare 6100. The instruction manual for the Philips 6100 calls for users to remove the head from the handle and wipe down/rinse the metal pin connector weekly; I have continued to do that with these heads with no loss of tightness of fit. There’s a slightly bigger gap between the base of the brush head than with the plastic Philips heads but it doesn’t affect the function and, in my opinion, the difference is negligible.
Overall, I’m really happy with these bamboo brush heads and would recommend them to others.
