Upgrade your space with our XL Diatomaceous Bath Mat, an alternative to traditional cloth and foam mats for the bathroom and kitchen.
Made from diatomaceous earth, a material similar to fine sand that comes from fossilized algae, this mat is fast drying and slip resistant, which makes it a good fit for damp areas like bathrooms, kitchens, or under large pet bowls. It absorbs up to 150% of its weight in moisture and dries within seconds, so it does not sit wet between uses.
How to Set Up: First place the rubber pad on a flat, clean, dry, even surface. Then gently set both pieces of the diatomite mat on top of the pad so they connect in the middle. Never place it on top of a towel, carpet, or soft bath mat.

How to Care:
Use water to gently rinse and wipe clean.
To maintain best absorbency, wash and dry completely every 10 to 20 days.
For a deeper clean, use a little vinegar, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide and gently scrub. We recommend using one of our pot scrub brushes to really clean out the pores of the mat.
If necessary, you can use a thin grit sandpaper and sand a thin layer off the top to refresh the absorbency. Please note: Wet sand only. Keep the dish and sandpaper wet the whole time. Avoid breathing the dust.
For deeper stains, bleach may be needed to treat.
Pro Tips: Mats must be placed on even, flat surfaces and never on top of carpet or other soft mats, or there is risk of the mat breaking prematurely. Avoid stepping on the seam where the two pieces meet so you do not break off the connective pieces.
